About The Spice Org

Quality is a habit we picked up at the source.

A closer look at where we come from, how we work, and what we hold ourselves to.

Our Story Sacks of red chili lined up at a trading yard, with buyers and sellers at work.

Where We Come From

A second-generation company, rooted in the Indian spice trade.

The Spice Org was founded in 2005 in Guntur, at the heart of India's spice trade, and today it's run by the second generation of the family that started it. We grew up around the drying yards and grading floors, and that closeness to the source is still how we work.

Farmer relationships are at the centre of it. Many of the growers we buy from today are families our founders worked with from the beginning — not sourced from a spreadsheet, but built over two decades of showing up season after season.

We believe quality, the farmer's wellbeing, and the health of the land are the same conversation. Fair, transparent pricing and sustainable growing practices aren't an add-on to our business — they're the foundation it's built on.

Our Journey

Two decades in the spice trade.

From a first-generation start in Guntur to a second-generation team carrying it forward.

  1. 2005

    Founded in Guntur

The Spice Org is founded at the heart of India's chili trade, built on direct relationships with local growers.

  2. 2010

    Pepper joins the range

Sourcing expands beyond chili to pepper — the first step toward a broader spice portfolio.

  3. 2015

    Turmeric & first direct exports

Turmeric is added, and the company ships its first full containers directly to overseas buyers.

  4. 2019

    Lab testing becomes standard

Lot-level lab testing and traceability practices are adopted across every shipment, ahead of tightening import rules.

  5. 2023

    Organic sourcing begins

Organic-certified sourcing starts with select grower partners, alongside our conventional lots.

  6. 2025

    Second generation takes the helm

Leadership passes to the second generation, carrying the same farmer-first approach into its next chapter.

The 2010–2023 milestones are suggested placeholders — tell us the real ones and we'll swap them in.

How We Work Sorted white pepper ready for export packing.

From Farm To Port

A short path, watched closely at every step.

01 — Sourcing

We work directly with growers and local aggregators in each region, choosing lots on colour, aroma and moisture, not just price.

02 — Grading & Quality Control

Every batch is sorted and checked against export specifications before it's approved for packing.

03 — Packing

Product is packed to protect flavour and shelf life across long-distance shipping, in formats suited to each buyer.

04 — Export

We handle documentation and logistics so what arrives at your port matches what left ours.

What We Stand For

The standard behind every shipment.

Direct Sourcing

Relationships with growers and yards, not layers of middlemen.

Quality Control

Every lot graded and checked before it's approved for export.

Global Reach

Packed and documented for international buyers, wherever they are.

Consistency

The same standard, shipment after shipment — not just the first one.
